Foundation "Felsentor"
Beschreibung
The Felsentor Foundation was established in 1999 by Zen priest Vanja Palmers and Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast. Their aim was and is to create a place of encounter in this special place. Encounters with people, animals, nature, themselves and ultimately with the great mystery that has many and no name.
As a spiritual center, we strive in our teaching and practice for a harmonious relationship between humans, animals and the entire ecosystem. The beauty and seclusion of the rock gate provide a natural and supportive setting for this.
Here we cultivate a place of living Zen practice in the lineage of Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi, while at the same time being open to all paths and traditions that work for the good of the whole.
The Felsentor includes a seminar house, a zendo (Japanese meditation hall), an animal sanctuary and a garden café (self-service) where hikers can take a break and fortify themselves with drinks and snacks. The Frohmatte organic farm (300 meters in altitude below the Felsentor) provides us with high-quality food that is grown sustainably and with ethical aspects in mind. In addition to a varied course program, we also offer the opportunity to live and work with the house community for a shorter or longer period of time.
May all beings be happy!
